our attention to detail

  The high street (and online) revolution and the accompanying makeover TV programmes of the past decade has been simply wonderful for the fashion industry in the sole respect that it has encouraged us to think about and be able to source colours and styles previously unavailable to your average busy woman.

However the appalling lack of attention to detail, both in the manufacturing and the finishing of garments made in far flung countries (solely due to the pressure to keep costs down), is a particular bugbear to those of us obsessive enough to remember Jean Muir’s mitred corners.

When there are buttoned cuffs, they should open and work, buttonholes should always be of the keyhole variety (it takes more time and more thread).

There should be a certain number of stitches per inch, we can all run up garments much more quickly with 10 stitches as opposed to 30 stitches per inch….but time is not of the essence when creating a garment which will stand the test of time... attention to detail is something which lies at the very heart of the rose… philosophy, and is never compromised.
